Narrative and Treatment

Narrative

The actual decision of a specific narrative has taken a long time since every group members views where taken into account. Moreover as a group we where slightly unsure we wanted to portray in the actual video. The song we chose is Rihanna ‘Only girl’ therefore we chose a narrative which best suited the lyrics of this song.
The narrative simply shows 3 different women who have become emotionally and mentally attached to this man. As a group we expose her character as a vulnerable person as she has the characteristics of a needy being. She basically wants to be loved and treated like she is the only girl on the planet. The lyrics of the song also accompany this as they also reveals that fact that she is dyeing to be the main focus and be extremely special. However her character does not typically relate to stereotypes as the relationship with this man is only in hear head therefore she is in control and able to demand exactly what she wants from the relationship. Overall the video challenges the typical idea of women not being able to do what they want as the video displays the woman as being completely independent. Moreover the video relates to the modern control women have over men within this day and age. The video simply sets put to show how a woman should be treated and how she expects to be treated.

Treatment

The treatment will simply expose the narrative. AS a group we will do this by showing a range of different shots, commonly close ups as this will help show the audience different feelings and moods. This will help create a connection between the audience and the music video. Moreover as we are not telling a visual story the video will not consist of a male figure
